The era of Robotics is upon us, Robots can now do those task everyone hates like vacuuming the carpets and floors to making us even a bigger "Couch Potato" were we don't even need to look for that elusive handheld remote control to change channels or adjust the volume.

As if you needed another reason never to leave the couch. There is an 11-inch-tall robot -- which looks like the love child of a bird Pokemon and the Pillsbury Doughboy -- is actually a voice-activated remote control with artificial intelligence. If you pick up your TV's remote and start pressing buttons, ApriPoko will ask what you're doing and then memorize the IR codes associated with your actions. The next time around, you can just say, "Turn on the TV" or "Change channel to ESPN and ApriPoko will take matters from there.

Feel like doing a little dancing and don't have a human partner, well your solution is coming very soon...WowWee is also targeting some new robots at women and girls. FemiSapien is a female humanoid robot that dances to music it "hears" by way of an onboard microphone, and can control other robots in WowWee's lineup as well. The robot reacts to voice commands and even human touch.

What about that weekend chore of mowing the lawn.. Well the robots are here to help.. Basic robotic mower for small lawns.The entry-level Robomower RM200 robotic mower only handles lawns up to 2,700 sq. ft. and its 39-pound weight is too heavy to carry, with the remote control once it's started, mows on its own. As with most robotic mowers, you'll need to spend time setting up perimeter wires around your yard.

The vacuuming robot measures 16-3/4 by 21 by 5 inches.

Robots are everywhere these days, soon we will be getting into the back seats of our cars and having a robot take us to our destination.
